Evolvable Building Blocks for Analog Fuzzy Logic Controllers

چکیده
This work discusses the use of an Evolvable Hardware (EHW) platform in the synthesis of analog electronic circuits for Fuzzy Logic Controllers. A Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) is defined by a collection of fuzzy if-then rules and a set of membership functions characterizing the linguistic terms associated with the inputs and output of the FLC. The EHW analog platform, named PAMA-NG (Programmable Analog Multiplexer Array – Next Generation), is a reconfigurable platform that consists of integrated circuits whose internal connections can be programmed by Evolutionary Computation techniques, such as Genetic Algorithms, to synthesize circuits. The PAMA-NG is classified as a Field Programmable Analog Array (FPAA). FPAAs have appeared recently and constitute the state of the art in the technology of reconfigurable platforms. These devices will become the building blocks of a forthcoming class of hardware, with the important features of self-adaptation and selfrepairing, through automatic reconfiguration. This article focuses on the development of building blocks for analog FLCs on the PAMA-NG and presents case studies.

متن کاملCMOS Fuzzification Circuits for Linear Membership Functions
The subject of the study was hardware implementations of fuzzy controllers as CMOS analog devices on the base of implementation of fuzzy inference rules as multi-valued logic functions using summing amplifiers as building blocks. Earlier a functional completeness of summing amplifier with saturation in an arbitrary-valued logic was proven that gave a theoretical background for analog implementa...
متن کاملMultiple-valued Logic Approach to Fuzzy Controllers Implementation
This paper offers a new technique for designing fuzzy controllers as analog hardware devices on bases of CMOS implementation of multi-valued logical functions. This approach is based on using a summing amplifier with saturation as a building block that can be considered as a multi-threshold logical element. The functional completeness in an arbitrary-valued logic of a summing amplifier with sat...
متن کاملFlexible Fuzzy Controllers Using Mixed-signal Current-mode Techniques
The architecture and required building blocks of CMOS fuzzy chips capable of performing as adaptive fuzzy controllers are described in this paper. The building blocks are designed with mixed-signal current-mode cells that contain low-resolution A/D and D/A converters based on current mirrors. These cells provide the chip with analog or digital programmability and long-term local storage. They a...
